Logan Allen was taken in the 16th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles but chose to go the college route.

He was a Freshman All-American in 2018 with Florida International after getting it done at the plate and on the mound.

He hit .309 that season with 23 runs scored, 5 doubles, 2 home runs, and 16 RBI in 139 at-bats. Allen also went 5-5 as a pitcher with a 3.89 ERA in 74 innings with 85 strikeouts and just 16 walks.

That summer he hit .339/.449 in the California Collegiate League with 49 runs scored and 27 stolen bases in 165 at-bats.

This past season he hit .276/.321 with 11 runs scored and 3 home runs in just 76 at-bats.

He became a bigger factor on the mound where he posted a 3.11 ERA in 14 starts and 84 innings with 120 strikeouts, 1.14 WHIP, and .231 BAA.

Allen bats right-handed and throws left-handed. We’ll see how FIU plans to use him in 2020, but it appears like his future is as a starting pitcher.
