SEC Game of the Week Preview: South Carolina at Tennessee

The SEC starts tonight with their ESPN Game of the Week broadcasts for the 2011 season featuring the 2010 national champion South Carolina facing off against the University of Tennessee for a key three game SEC series. SEC Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

The SEC enters the third weekend of play with Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida tied for first place in the Eastern Division with 4-2 records. Vanderbilt took two out of three games in each of their SEC weekends with Arkansas and Mississippi State. South Carolina also took two out of three from Georgia and Florida. The Gators swept the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge on the opening weekend before losing two out of three to South Carolina. SEC Weekend Preview (March 25th-27th)

The SEC enters their second weekend of conference play with the Florida Gators leading the SEC Eastern Division with a perfect 3-0 record. Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt are all tied for second with 2-1 records while Georgia and Tennessee are tied for fifth place with 1-2 marks. The Western Division is led by the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers who have identical 2-1 records. Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are tied for third place with 1-2 records while the LSU Tigers round out the division without recording a win in their first three games. SEC Weekend Preview (March 18th-20th)

The SEC opens up conference play this weekend with four schools ranked in the top seven in the country led by number 1 ranked Vanderbilt. The biggest series of the weekend features the number 2 ranked Florida Gators visiting number 7 ranked LSU. The other weekend matchups sees Georgia going to number six ranked South Carolina, eleventh ranked Arkansas visiting 26th ranked Auburn, Alabama going to Ole Miss, and Tennessee visiting the Kentucky Wildcats.  Continue reading SEC Weekend Preview (March 18th-20th)

SEC Weekend Preview (May 20th-22nd)

The SEC enters the final week of action highlighted by an SEC Eastern Division showdown between Florida and South Carolina. Both schools are tied for the division lead with a 20-7 SEC record. The only school that could catch Florida in the standings is Auburn who would need to sweep Ole Miss and have the Gators sweep South Carolina. I do not know who wins the tiebreaker between Florida and Auburn as both teams did not face off but Auburn loses the tiebreaker to South Carolina. The other teams in action this weekend sees Alabama visiting Tennessee, Arkansas at Vanderbilt, Mississippi State at LSU, and Kentucky at Georgia. SEC Weekend Preview (May 7th-9th)

The SEC enters the third to last weekend of action with the marquee series this weekend featuring the number 10 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks heading down to #15 Ole Miss. The opener to the series will have Arkansas sending Drew Smyly (7-0, 2.19 ERA) to the hill against Ole Miss ace Drew Pomeranz (6-0, 1.85 ERA). The other series in the SEC featuring two ranked squads is #19 Vanderbilt visiting #17 LSU. The rest of the conference schedule sees #6 Florida visiting Alabama, Mississippi State visiting #28 Auburn, #11 ranked South Carolina heading to Kentucky, and Tennessee hosting Georgia. The SEC heads back into conference play this week with a full slate of action. The top sereis of the weekend sees LSU visiting Florida in a matchup between two ranked squads. The other series this weekend are Alabama visiting South Carolina, Arkansas hosting Auburn, Georgia heading to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss visiting intrastate rival Mississippi State, and finally Kentucky visiting Tennessee. SEC Weekend Preview (April 23rd-25th)

The SEC starts off the second half of the conference season with a couple of key matchups. The best Friday night pitching matchup is between LSU RHP Anthony Ranaudo and Ole Miss LHP Drew Pomeranz who are both projected to be Top 10 picks in the 2010 MLB Draft. The Tigers enter the series with a national ranking of #5 in the country while Ole Miss is 23rd in the latest NCBWA poll. The other series to feature two ranked squads is when the #6 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks make the trip to Gainesville to take on the #12 ranked Florida Gators. The other series of the weekend sees #14 South Carolina visiting Georgia, #15 Vanderbilt taking on intrastate rival Tennessee, Kentucky going to Auburn, and Mississippi State taking on the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa. SEC Weekend Preview (April 16th-18th)

The SEC enters their fifth week of play with South Carolina leading the East Division by one game over Florida while Arkansas leads the west by one game over LSU. The marquee series this weekend sees the South Carolina Gamecocks hosting the Ole Miss Rebels. We also see LSU hosting Alabama, Georgia going to Arkansas, Auburn at Vanderbilt, Florida at Kentucky and Tennessee at Mississippi State. The SEC enters its fourth weekend of action seeing South Carolina visiting Vanderbilt in the only matchup between two ranked squads. The rest of the matchups see Alabama visiting Kentucky, Arkansas at Mississippi State, LSU at Auburn, Florida at Tennessee, and Ole Miss at Georgia.
