Iowa releases 2024 Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head baseball coach Rick Heller released details of the Hawkeyes’ 54-game regular season schedule on Tuesday. The Hawkeye’s 2024 slate features 27 games at Duane Banks Field. Iowa will begin its season at the Swig & Swine College Classic in Charleston, South Carolina, from Feb. 15-17. The Hawkeyes open their home portion of the schedule on Feb. 27, hosting Northern Illinois. 

SCHEDULE NOTES 

— Iowa will play nonconference tournaments in South Carolina (Swig & Swine College Classic) and Florida (Jax College Baseball Classic). 

— At the Jax College Baseball Classic, Iowa will face two teams that appeared as hosts in the 2023 NCAA Regionals (Auburn on Feb. 23 and Virginia on Feb. 24). The Hawkeyes are also scheduled for a contest with Wichita State on Feb. 25. 

— The Hawkeyes are set to play three-game series at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi (March 1-3) and at Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Alabama (March 8-10), before stopping in Athens, Georgia, for a single game against Georgia on March 12. 

— The Hawkeyes host Minnesota (March 29-31), Michigan (April 5-7), Rutgers (April 19-21) and Northwestern (May 3-5) in league play and travel for road conference series at Purdue (March 22-24), Ohio State (April 12-14), Nebraska (April 26-28) and Illinois (May 10-12). 

— Iowa hosts two nonconference series, one before and one after conference play. The Hawkeyes welcome Western Illinois on March 15-17 and close the regular season with a visit from Florida International on May 16-18. 

— The Hawkeyes play midweek contests at home against Grand View, St. Thomas, Milwaukee, Illinois State, North Dakota State and UIC. The team hits the road for midweek games at Illinois State and Bradley. 

— The Big Ten Tournament will be held at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, from May 21-26. The top eight teams in the Big Ten regular season standings qualify for the double-elimination tournament. 

Iowa returns five starters and two members of the starting rotation from the 2023 team that finished 44-16 and earned an NCAA Regional bid for the first time since 2017. The Hawkeyes have 21 newcomers, including 10 transfers, joining the roster this season.
