PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Grant Achilles, current assistant coach of the Brown University baseball team, has been named head coach of the program in an announcement made by Brown Director of Athletics Jack Hayes on Monday.
Achilles spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Bears before taking over the head coaching duties midway through the 2014 season. Achilles becomes Brown’s 17th head coach since 1900, while the program was founded in 1863. Continue reading

Durkac has 12 years of coaching experience, including five seasons with the Redbirds, serving as an associate head coach for the past two seasons, and is widely respected throughout the sport. UNC Asheville will name Scott Friedholm as their next head coach. He had served the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Boston College. Before joining the Boston College staff, he spent time at Navy and Maine under Paul Kostacopoulos after an outstanding career at Providence College where he was an All-Big East squad member.

LITTLE ROCK – Scott Norwood has announced his immediate resignation as head baseball coach at UALR to pursue other opportunities. Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Chris Marx will serve as interim head coach while a national search begins immediately.

Tim Esmay has resigned according to Jeff Metcalfe of The Arizona Republic. Esmay still had one year remaining on his contract. He had been the head coach of the Arizona State baseball program for the last five years where he went 33-24 overall and 19-11 in Pac-12 play. The Sun Devils had a disappointing end of the season where they went 0-2 in the NCAA Tournament.
College Baseball Daily has learned that David Pierce will be named the head coach at Tulane. Pierce most recently brought Sam Houston State to the NCAA Tournament where they finished the season with a 43-19 overall record and a 22-8 mark in Southland conference play. It was the Bearkats third straight NCAA tournament appearance.

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland introduced former Campbell University coach Greg Goff as the seventh head coach of the Bulldog Baseball program in a press conference on Friday morning in the Jarrell Room of the Charles Wyly Athletic Center.
Goff comes to Ruston after spending seven years as the head baseball coach at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., where he amassed an impressive record of 224-174 in his time at the helm of the Camels program, including recording three straight 40-win seasons. This past season, Goff and his team captured the Big South Tournament Championship, which led to Campbell’s first NCAA Regional appearance in 24 years. During last week’s Columbia Regional, Goff and his team defeated Conference USA’s Old Dominion for the program’s first ever win in an NCAA Regional. Continue reading
