Texas A&M has been unanimously selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2012 Big 12 baseball regular season title. In a vote by the league’s head coaches, the Aggies earned eight first place votes, totaling 64 points. In 2011, TAMU made its fifth College World Series appearance, claimed its second-straight Big 12 postseason crown and earned a share of the regular season title. The Aggies are ranked in the top 10 of all four preseason national polls entering the 2012 campaign. Continue reading
In 2012, the Big 12 will be without a former power, while saying farewell to a pair of teams and preparing to welcome another. With Nebraska officially gone to the Big Ten, the conference will take on a new shape with only nine members. Conference favorite, Texas A&M, is preparing to compete in their final Big 12 season before jumping ship to the powerful SEC with Missouri in tow. With all the departures, the conference decided to extend an invitation to recent powerhouse TCU, increasing the competition level. Continue reading

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou baseball program and head coach Tim Jamieson have announced its 2012 competition schedule on Friday (Nov. 18). The Tigers have 55 games scheduled for the 2012 season, including 29 against teams that qualified for last year’s NCAA Tournament. Also, of the 55 games, Mizzou will play 33 at Taylor Stadium. The long rumored SEC move by the Missouri Tigers has officially been announced by the Missouri athletic department. The Missouri baseball squad is coming off a 27-32 campaign which saw them finish in eighth place with a 11-15 Big 12 conference record. Darkness forced the suspension of Game Two in the Keaney-Navy World Series on Friday evening, but when play resumed on Saturday, sophomore Joe Landi scored on redshirt junior Pat Fortunato’s single up the middle to give Keaney the 3-2 win, as well as its fifth consecutive KNWS title. Cal-State Fullerton 10 Vanderbilt 8
Nashville, Tenn. – Greg Velazquez had two hits and three RBI and Austin Kingsolver had three hits and drove in two as Cal State Fullerton beat Vanderbilt, 10-8, in a nine-inning fall scrimmage Saturday morning at Hawkins Field.
The Titans are midway through their official fall workout period and made the trip to Nashville, Tenn., for a two-game practice series with the Commodores. Vanderbilt is wrapping up their official practice schedule this weekend with the Titans. Continue reading

We continue the countdown today at number 85 with Missouri junior righthanded pitcher Eric Anderson. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native attended Mountain Vista High School where he was a perfect 10-0 with an ERA of 1.71 and 89 strikeouts as a senior. In his high school career, he went 15-1 with an era of 2.80 while striking out 122 batters. Continue reading
