Maine opens New Batting Facility

ORONO, Maine– The Paul J. Mitchell Batting Pavilion was officially dedicated in a ceremony at the University of Maine on Tuesday, August 21 in front of several hundred people. Construction, which began in May, was recently completed on the indoor batting facility which will be utilized by the Maine baseball team, softball team and the community. Continue reading

Canadian Jeff Gibbs looks to lead Maine back to NCAA Tournament

If the University of Maine Black Bears are going to build off the success they had in 2011, expect Canadian Jeff Gibbs to be a big reason why.

Last year, the Black Bears were crowned America East champions and earned a berth in the NCAA regionals with Gibbs anchoring the staff. Head coach Steve Trimper is expecting him to thrive in that role again in 2012. Continue reading
