OMAHA, Neb. – Indiana’s left-handed pitcher Joey DeNato led the Hoosiers to a 2-0 shutout victory Saturday night over the Louisville Cardinals in the opening round of the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park.
With the win, Indiana (49-18) advances in the winner’s bracket to face Mississippi State on Monday, June 17 at 7 p.m. CT while Louisville (51-13) falls into the loser’s bracket and will face No. 3 Oregon State earlier that day at 2 p.m. CT. Continue reading
Mississippi State is coming off a super-regional victory over Virginia, wining 6-5 after an 18-hour rain delay. This is a heavily offense based team accumulating 30 hits over a two game span against Virginia. This will be the ninth appearance in the College World Series for the Bulldogs and first since 2007. A few notable players to keep an eye on include Wes Rea who is hitting .288 along with 37 RBIs and seven home runs, and Hunter Renfroe batting .360 with 61 RBIs and 15 homeruns, along with being drafted 13th overall in the MLB draft. Adam Frazier will also be one to keep an eye on with his .359 batting average and 38 RBIs. Mississippi State will face No.3 Oregon State in game one on Saturday with the winner advancing to take on the winner of Indiana vs. Louisville. They have shown that they can get a lead and hold on to it despite late comebacks. This may be a key factor for Mississippi State, if they can get out early then this team will be hard to beat. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma State advanced to the NCAA Louisville Regional final Sunday with a 7-1 win over Miami, but Louisville ended the Cowboys’ season by knocking them off by a 12-3 margin at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The Cowboys, who were the Louisville Regional’s third-seeded team, finished their first season under head coach Josh Holliday with a 41-19 mark. Continue reading
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma State earned its first NCAA Tournament win in four years Saturday as the third-seeded Cowboys advanced in the NCAA Louisville Regional with a 7-3 win over fourth-seeded Bowling Green in an elimination game at Jim Patterson Stadium.
With its first NCAA tourney win since the 2009 NCAA Clemson Regional, the Cowboys improved to 40-18 overall as they also reached the 40-win mark for the first time since 2008. Continue reading

Louisville’s season didn’t end as well as they would have liked. Just two games into the 2013 Big East tournament, and the Cardinals found themselves ousted by UConn. Though losing their opportunity at a national seed in the NCAA tournament, the Cardinals were selected to host the regional at Jim Patterson Stadium.
