According to multiple sources, former Bates College head baseball coach Edwin Thompson will be named an Assistant Coach at Duke. In two years at Bates, Thompson compiled a 37-33 record. The Bobcats finished 12-22 in 2009, then set a school record for victories by going 25-11 (6-6 in conference) last spring.

Michael Williams (Kentucky) went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs as the Danbury Westerners used a five run third inning to defeat the North Shore Navigators 9-3 on Monday night. The Westerners pounded out 16 hits with Michael Williams (Kentucky), Jim Brennan (St. John’s) and Brian Kownacki (Fordham) each collecting three hits.
