COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico took two of three from top-ranked Texas, winning Sunday’s rubber match (3-1). Also on Sunday, No. 11 TCU completed a three-game sweep of Sam Houston State with a 15-2 triumph, while UNLV won the finale of a three-game series with Sacramento State (18-14).
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -New Mexico scored four unanswered runs to rally for a 6-5 upset of No. 1 Texas on Saturday, while No. 11 TCU won a 12-7 slugfest with Sam Houston State. Utah also collected a win in non-conference action, splitting a twinbill with UC Davis (7-1, 1-6).
FROM CBB NEWS SOURCE Coming off the most successful season in school history, TCU has once again been picked to win the regular season Mountain West Conference. Kyle Winkler and Taylor Featherston were selected to the preseason all-conference team.
Air Force first baseman/DH Matt Alexander has had an unbelievable rise up the collegiate rankings into him being put on many preseason watch lists for the 2010 season. Last season, he hit .383 while hitting 15 homers and driving in 65 runs.
