GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Miami looked to be heading home early Sunday afternoon, but a late rally overcame a three-run deficit to defeat Jacksonville, 6-3, at McKethan Stadium in the Gainesville [Fla.] Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The win setup a rematch with No. 1 seed and No. 2 national seed Florida later in the day, and eliminated Jacksonville (37-24) from the regional. Continue reading

Jacksonville 5 Manhattan 4
The JU baseball team found different ways to plate runs en route to a 5-4 victory against Manhattan at the Gainesville Regional of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
With the scored tied at one in the fifth inning, the Dolphins (37-23) used two sacrifice flies and a bases-loaded walk in the next two frames to set up the win. Sophomore Adam Brett Walker also drove in two runs on three hits to help total. Walker’s day helped him set the new single-season records for hits and total bases. Continue reading

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Steven Ewing tossed six strong innings and freshman Corey Janson belted his first career home run on Friday, helping the 16th-ranked and No. 2 seed University of Miami Hurricanes defeat No. 3 seed Jacksonville University, 7-2, in the opening game of the Gainesville [Fla.] Regional at McKethan Stadium.
