Texas A&M CC allowed 17 walks and 16 hits and when the pitching staff does that a team will be able to score some runs. Texas puts up 22 on this staff today and 16 runs on them yesterday.
Brand Belt Soph went 4-6 at the plate and drove in 8 runs. The top of the lineup, Tucker, Torres and Danks scored 12 runs between them.

The 2008 Southwest Diamond Classic will take place in Frisco TX from Thursday-Saturday. The University of Alabama, UT-Arlington, Dallas Baptist, and Nevada will take part in the four team tournament which will be hosted at the home of the Frisco Roughriders. The University of Texas-San Antonio is hosting a great tournament on the opening weekend. Joining the Roadrunners this season is Army, Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas Tech, and Oral Roberts. The Red Raiders were a late addition to the tournament as Northern Illinois backed out of a three game set due to the tragedies on their campus last year. Continue reading UTSA Tourney Preview
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been added to the UTSA Baseball Classic this weekend after having to cancel their series against Northern Illinois after the tragedies that took place on that campus last week. The Red Raiders will open up play against Louisiana on Saturday at 10 am. They will then play Army on Sunday at 10 am and finish play against UTSA on Monday at 2 pm. After claiming their first regular-season title in school history in 2007 the UTSA Roadrunners received a league-best 18 out of a possible 24 first place votes in the coaches and sports information directors polls.
UTSA leads the Southland Conference returning five automatic selections to the 2008 Preseason Teams, including 2007 award winners Trent Lockwood – Newcomer of the Year, and Tim Palincsar – Freshman of the Year.
A Hitter of the Year candidate and a two-time player of the week in 2007, Lockwood led UTSA in eight offensive categories, including batting average (.378), hits (87), RBI (57) and home runs (14). Those same numbers placed Lockwood in the top six in seven league offensive categories, inclunding finishing second to 2007 Player of the Year Steven Hill of Stephen F. Austin with a .687 slugging percentage.

The UAB Media Relations department continues their season preview today when they check in on the Infield. They have some veterans and some inexperienced players looking to secure spots in the field for the season. Ryan Keedy is the top returning player after hitting .333 with 33 RBI in 2007 season.
