Tulane’s Rick Jones Retires

RickJonesNEW ORLEANS – Tulane baseball head coach Rick Jones, who led the Green Wave baseball program to 12 NCAA appearances and 818 victories over the last 21 years and became one of the most decorated collegiate baseball coaches in the sport, announced his retirement today from the coaching ranks, effective immediately.

Army searching for New Head Coach

ArmyBaseballArmy baseball has announced that they are doing a national search for a new head coach after Matt Reid served as the Interim Head Coach for the 2015 season. Reid took over the program on September 24th, 2013 when Joe Sottolano was given his walking papers. The Black Knights had a solid season going 33-18 and 15-5 in Patriot League play. South Florida Head Coach Lelo Prado moves to Athletic Administration

Prado will join the USF Athletics Department senior administrative staff following the conclusion of the current baseball season. Bill Kernen announces Retirement at End of Season

BakersfieldSchedulePhoto.jpgBAKERSFIELD, Calif.- Bakersfield head baseball coach Bill Kernen has announced his retirement from college baseball effective at the conclusion of the 2014 season after six seasons at the helm of the Roadrunners.

Kernen, who has led the Roadrunners since the program’s inception in 2009, amassed a 155-168 record while leading the Roadrunners program in the last six seasons. Boston College names Jimmy Van Ostrand as Assistant Coach

VanOstrandChestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team rounded out its staff by added Jimmy Van Ostrand as a volunteer coach, head coach Mike Gambino announced on Wednesday afternoon. Van Ostrand brings seven years of international and minor league playing experience to the Eagles.

“It is extremely important to me that we surround our players with high character people who can help them develop on the field and also into quality men off the field. I think Jimmy fits that mold and is a great fit with our staff,” Gambino said. “He is coming off a great playing career and comes to us with extensive experience that our boys will be able to draw from. SE Louisiana names Matt Riser as Head Coach

Oklahoma names Jamie Pinzino as Pitching Coach

JamiePinzinoBryant_thumb.jpgNORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma head baseball coach Pete Hughes has named Jamie Pinzino as the program’s new assistant baseball and pitching coach. Pinzino, a 12-year veteran in the collegiate ranks and seven-year head coach, comes to Norman after a one-year stint as head coach at William & Mary, preceded by one year as an assistant for the Tribe.
