TCU (35-17) stays at #1 for the 3^rd consecutive week. The Horned Frogs went 3-1 on the week, winning 1-0 at Oklahoma Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 vs San Diego St in MWC play. TCU finished the regular season tied for 1^st with New Mexico at 18-6 in the MWC. Read the rest of this entry »

Purdue (34-7) is #1 for the 5^th consecutive week. The Boilermakers went 3-1 on week, winning 3-2 at Illinois St on Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 from Michigan St in Big 10 play. Purdue (31-6) remains on top for 4^th consecutive week. The Boilermakers won 12-2 at Illinois-Chicago Wednesday before they traveled to Nebraska in the Big 10 series of year to date. Purdue took game 1 Friday 8-5 and Nebraska evened series Saturday with an 8-3 win. Purdue won the series with an 8-3 win of their own on Sunday. With the series win Purdue sits in first place in Big 10, 3 ½ games ahead of Michigan St and Minnesota, at 12-3. According to warrennolan.com Purdue’s RPI is 11 which have them in very good position to host a regional. For the second week in a row there is a new #1. TCU (11-6) moves up 2 spots to take over the top spot. The Horned Frogs had a perfect 5-0 week, beating Texas Tech on Tuesday, winning at UTSA Wednesday and sweeping UNLV on the road to open Mountain West play.

2012 MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Edison, N.J. – Canisius College has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2012 MAAC Baseball Championship, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

An extremely close vote saw Canisius top the poll with 61 points followed by Rider University with 60. Manhattan College was picked third with 59 points, while Iona College was fourth with 56. Wagner set to name Villanova Assistant Jim Carone as Head Coach

Wagner University will name Villanova Assistant Coach Jim Carone as head coach College Baseball Daily has learned through multiple sources. Carone replaces Joe Litterio who resigned two weeks ago to take assistant coach position at Rutgers University.

Siena visits Ronald McDonald House

Siena baseball visited the Ronald McDonald House this past weekend, moving holiday gifts and cooking a meal for families staying there. The visit is an annual one, and you can check out an exclusive video here!

Canisius extends Mike McRae through 2014 Season

Canisius College director of athletics Bill Maher has announced that baseball coach Mike McRae has signed a contract extension through the 2014 season.

“During his time as head coach, Mike has developed the Canisius College baseball program into exactly that – a program that consistently competes for a conference championship,” Canisius College director of athletics Bill Maher said. “Mike has made this program into one of the most successful in the Northeast region.
