College Baseball Daily has learned that Northeastern will promote assistant coach Mike Glavine to Head Coach replacing Neil McPhee as head coach at the end of the 2014 season. Glavine has served as an assistant with the Huskies for the last four years serving as the Recruiting Coordinator while working with the infielders and hitters.

HARRISONBURG, Va., – Heading into his 17th season at the helm of the James Madison baseball program, head coach Spanky McFarland believes the 2014 schedule may be the most difficult the Dukes have faced during his tenure. The numbers appear to support that notion.
Among JMU’s 56 games, the Dukes will play 20 against teams that made the 2012 NCAA Regional field. They will play five games against last year’s top 25 of the NCAA RPI, 18 against the top 50 and 34 against the top 100. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — A three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning erased a 4-3 deficit as the Elon Phoenix eliminated the UNC Wilmington Seahawks from the Charlotteville Regional by a 6-4 score on Sunday afternoon.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Senior Corey Keller took his turn at leading No. 23 Florida Atlantic University’s baseball team to a thrilling 6-5 victory over Towson to advance at the Chapel Hill Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
The two teams exchanged the lead three times and were tied twice. Geoff Jimenez was hit by a pitch to start the ninth inning, with the score tied at five. He stole second and moved to third on a deep fly to center field by senior first baseman Mark Nelson. Towson elected to walk Brendon Sanger to get to Keller, who had a homerun earlier in the day.
