CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 21st)

TCU (35-17) stays at #1 for the 3rd consecutive week. The Horned Frogs went 3-1 on the week, winning 1-0 at Oklahoma Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 vs San Diego St in MWC play. TCU finished the regular season tied for 1st with New Mexico at 18-6 in the MWC. Read the rest of this entry »

TCU (29-16) slides up 2 spots to take over #1 for week 12. The Horned Frogs went 3-1 on the week beating Oklahoma 4-3 Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 vs New Mexico in MWC play. TCU and New Mexico are now tied atop the MWC standings at 13-5 and having split their 6 games. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 CBD Mid Major Poll (April 30th)

Purdue (34-7) is #1 for the 5th consecutive week. The Boilermakers went 3-1 on week, winning 3-2 at Illinois St on Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 from Michigan St in Big 10 play. Purdue has a 3 ½ game lead in Big 10 and steps out of conference play this weekend for HUGE series at UCLA. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 CBD Mid Major Poll (April 23rd)

Purdue (31-6) remains on top for 4th consecutive week. The Boilermakers won 12-2 at Illinois-Chicago Wednesday before they traveled to Nebraska in the Big 10 series of year to date. Purdue took game 1 Friday 8-5 and Nebraska evened series Saturday with an 8-3 win. Purdue won the series with an 8-3 win of their own on Sunday. With the series win Purdue sits in first place in Big 10, 3 ½ games ahead of Michigan St and Minnesota, at 12-3. According to warrennolan.com Purdue’s RPI is 11 which have them in very good position to host a regional. They can add to that resume in the next 2 weeks when they host Michigan St and then travel to UCLA for 3 game series May 5th-6th. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 CBD Mid Major Poll (April 2nd)

For the 4th week in a row we have a new #1. Purdue (20-5) continues to play great baseball in 2012, moving up to the top spot with a 4-1 week. The Boilermakers started the week off beating Louisville 2-1 in 10 innings on Tuesday, followed by a 6-1 win Wednesday over IUPU-Fort Wayne, and taking 2 of 3 from Penn St in Big 10 play. For the second week in a row there is a new #1. TCU (11-6) moves up 2 spots to take over the top spot. The Horned Frogs had a perfect 5-0 week, beating Texas Tech on Tuesday, winning at UTSA Wednesday and sweeping UNLV on the road to open Mountain West play.

Texas St (11-4) takes over the top spot.

The Bobcats, who had thrown 5 consecutive shutouts entering the week, picked up a 3-2 win vs Rice on Tuesday before taking 2 of 3 at UT-Arlington to start Southland play…….Stetson (12-3) who had held the top spot for the first 3 weeks dropped down to #2.
