Virginia wins 2015 College World Series with 4-2 win over Vanderbilt

OMAHA, Neb. – Virginia was crowned the 2015 NCAA National Champions after defeating Vanderbilt, 4-2, in game three of the College World Series Finals on Wednesday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.

In a rematch of last year’s CWS Finals series that Vanderbilt won, it was Virginia that took round two of the best-of-three series, 2-1. Vanderbilt won game one, 5-1, and Virginia took game two, 3-0, before the decisive third game went in the Cavaliers’ favor. Virginia Defeats Vanderbilt, 3-0, to Force Game 3 in CWS Finals

OMAHA, Neb. – The Virginia baseball team evened the College World Series Finals at a game apiece by blanking Vanderbilt, 3-0, Tuesday night in front of 24,645 fans at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The Cavaliers (43-24) forced a deciding Game 3 at 8 p.m. Wednesday to determine the national champion. UVa is seeking its first national championship.

Adam Haseley (Fr., Windermere, Fla.) and Josh Sborz (Jr., McLean, Va.) combined on a seven-hit shutout, while the bottom of UVa’s batting order, Ernie Clement (Fr., Rochester, N.Y.) and Thomas Woodruff (Sr., Clifton, Va.), recorded six of UVa’s 10 hits while driving in all three runs. 2015 College World Series Game 11: Florida 10 Virginia 5

KevinOSullivanMoundOMAHA, Neb. – Florida’s bats overpowered Virginia to beat the Cavaliers 10-5 in a bracket one final of the 2015 Men’s College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park.

OMAHA, Neb. – Brandon Waddell and Josh Sborz combined for a two-hit shutout of Florida in a tight 1-0 victory in the 2015 Men’s College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
