Boston College releases 2014 Schedule

GambinoSmallChestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team released the 2014 schedule on Thursday. The 55-game slate features eight teams that were in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and includes a 14-game home stand in Chestnut Hill.

The Eagles open the season in California, taking on Nevada at Santa Clara University on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 and then playing the host Broncos in the second game of a doubleheader on the 15th and finishing the weekend with a noon game on Sunday. CBD Top 100 Countdown: 66. Ashton Perritt (Liberty)

AshtonPerrittWe continue the countdown today with number 66, Liberty RHP/OF Ashton Perritt. In his sophomore campaign with the Flames, Perritt was able to post impressive numbers both at the plate and on the mound. In the batter’s box the right-hander had 172 at bats and in that time batted to a .343 average. The talented outfielder appeared in 40 games and collected 59 hits with 6 homeruns and 17 RBI. On the mound, Perritt was equally as impressive posting a 3-2 record with a 2.09 ERA. Pittsburgh releases 2014 Schedule

PittLogo_thumb.jpgPITTSBURGH—Pitt baseball’s inaugural ACC season will feature seven series against opponents who participated in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, Panthers’ head coach Joe Jordano announced Thursday.

“I really like this schedule,” said Jordano. “I think what you try to do is position your team to play against competition that is capable of playing, and has been successful, in the NCAA Tournament because that’s our goal. CBD Top 100 Countdown: 67. Chesny Young (Mercer)

ChesnyYoungWe continue the countdown today with number 67, Mercer infielder Chesny Young. In his sophomore campaign with the bears, Young started every game in Mercer’s 61 game schedule. Chesny led the nation among NCAA Division I players in hits with a total of 105. In addition, Young led the Bears in batting average (.401), on-base percentage (.458), and total bases (141). The Mercer infielder also finished 2nd in RBI’s (65), finishing out the Bears schedule with a 30 game hitting streak. CBD Top 100 Countdown: 68. Dylan Davis (Oregon State)

DylanDavisWe continue the countdown today with number 68, Oregon State RHP/outfielder Dylan Davis. In His sophomore campaign with the Beavers, Davis continued to prove that his freshman season was no fluke. An All-Pac-12 First Team selection, the Beaver outfielder played in 63 games during the 2013 season, starting in 62 of them. The 6’0” sophomore led the team with a .335 average and his 22 doubles, 61 RBI and 86 hits were good enough for first in the Pac-12. Baylor releases 2014 Schedule

CoachSmithBaylorWACO, Texas – Baylor baseball announced its 2014 schedule on Tuesday, featuring 54 games and 30 at home. The Bears will face nine 2013 NCAA Tournament participants and its 24 opponents posted a combined 811-586-1 (.580) record last season.

Western Michigan releases 2014 Schedule

Highlights include four home Mid-American Conference series, home & home pairings with Michigan State, Northwestern and Valparaiso, as well as road contests at Louisville, Michigan and Notre Dame. The Broncos will play the Detroit Tigers Prospect team for the third year in a row at Joker Marchant Stadium as part of the annual Florida trip. CBD Top 100 Countdown: 69. Jameson Fisher (SE Louisiana)

Fisher_JamesonWe continue the countdown today with number 69, SE Louisiana catcher/infielder Jameson Fisher. In his freshman campaign with Lions, Fisher quickly collected a handful of accolades, proving that he would be a prospect to watch. The freshman infielder started all 60 games in the 2013 season and was able to put up some pretty impressive numbers in the process. His .315 average led the team and his 69 hits were also good for the top spot amongst the Lion’s lineup. Fisher was named to the Southland Conference Honor Roll as well as the NCBWA Freshman All-American list (C). The 6’2” infielder also added Southland Conference All-Tournament team (1B) and an All-Southland Conference honorable mention to his list of accomplishments.
