2012 CBD Preseason Mid-Major Poll and All-American Teams

College Baseball Daily for the second straight season will be putting out a weekly Mid-Major Poll throughout the season. Leading the pack this year is the Stetson Hatters.  The “mid-major” rankings consist of teams out side of the “Big 6″ conferences:  ACC, Big 12, Big West, CUSA, Pac 10 and SEC.  Continue reading

2012 NCBWA Preseason Poll Released

DALLAS – Florida is pre-competition No. 1 nationally for the first time in school history in the 2012 National Collegiate Baseball Writers 15th annual Division I preseason poll.

Coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s crew was runnerup to fellow Southeastern Conference powerhouse South Carolina in the 2011 NCAA World Series and has a very solid nucleus returning. All-America catcher and 2011 SEC Player of the Year Mike Zunino (.371 average-19 homers-67 RBI) is one of the top returnees along with dual threat Brian Johnson (8-3 pitching record, .307-5-29) and All-America DH Preston Tucker for the Gators. Collegiate Baseball News releases 2012 Division 2 Poll

Collegiate Baseball News has released their 2012 Preseason Division 2 Top 40 poll. The poll is led by West Florida who finished the 2011 season with a 52-9 overall record. Francis Marion comes in second with Central Missouri at number three, Grant Valley State at four, and Mount Olive rounding out the Top 5. You can check out the full Top 40 below. Continue reading
