You confused Ole Miss with Mississippi State. State is actually the one that beat No. 1 and No. 2 on the road (and Ole Miss). Make sure to proofread next time.

Nope…Ole Miss has a series victory over a very good Louisville team, took a game on the road vs Mississippi State, and has played a ton of NCAA teams as of right now ooc. Yea, they got swept by South Carolina which is right now in first place in the conference. Mississippi State has a series loss at home to FAU, lost to a very bad UCLA team, tied Oklahoma (not good), Eastern Kentucky at home, Oral Roberts, and Georgia. A majority of these teams are not even in the conversation to make the tournament.

So we can cross out “OM took a game from MSU on the road” as a net advantage, since they lost the series ninety minutes from their campus. Let’s be charitable and call that series loss a wash for OM.

Next, we might stretch and say that a home 2-1 series win against Louisville equals a road series win against Vanderb … heh, no. Just kidding. That’s not even close.

And even if it were, that leaves you with MSU’s Florida road series win, the answer to which is … What? That MSU lost a couple of early season games while trying out arms and lineups?

Okay. I guess we’ll just have to see if “MSU threw its third best freshman against Oral Roberts and lost a Wednesday night game” is a reliable indicator of what will happen through the remainder of SEC play.

I’m not sure what this guy has against State, but there is clearly a bias. I brought up the RPI disparity between State and OM and here is his mind-boggling response:

“Ole Miss has played a much more difficult OOC. It isn’t even close while
Mississippi State was beating up on Lowell (transitional d-2 school)
and Eastern Kentucky.”

Really? REALLY?

Forget ole miss’ body of work, but how does one justify putting Florida State ahead of mississippi state? And if mississippi state isn’t a top 8 seed how could they be pitted against a 3 seed in miami essential making them a 13 seed? It just doesn’t seem likely considering state has taken care of 7 of your projected number 1 seeds.

*5 not 7.

Regionals aren’t seeded 1-16 as you know.

How can you justify putting teams like UNC WIlmington and St. Mary’s in, while keeping Stanford out? Also, why is Michigan a 4 seed?

Brian Foley April 14, 2016 - 2:55 pm

Stanford’s RPI is 67th….tough to say they deserve a bid being that low and Michigan is 43rd

RPI does not tell the whole story. Southeast Missouri State? Their resume is rather lackluster. They’ve won 0 quality games (unless you count 1 against Missouri). They swept Morehead State, who is decently well liked by RPI standards despite having 0 quality wins. The Ohio Valley Conference is not a 2-bid league. They’ll have their autobid and that’s it.

Brian Foley April 14, 2016 - 11:35 pm

Did I say on May 30th the Ohio Valley will be a two bid conference? As of Monday, it is and likely will be passed over by teams in the coming weeks
