Marc Huberman

On May 9th 2014, College Baseball Daily reported that Southern California outfielder Vahn Bozoian was dismissed from the university for a student disciplinary issue after an unknown incident. The full story is coming out now though which could affect the Trojans postseason as they open play against Virginia on Friday.

On Thursday afternoon, a woman filed a civil suit against Mr. Bozoian, former Trojan pitcher Sean Adler, and current sophomore Marc Huberman claiming allegations of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy with the complaint that the three men filmed Jane Doe and Mr. Bozoian having sex.

The City News Service posted the following excerpt from the lawsuit:

The trio distributed the video “to the general public including … other members of the baseball team,” according to the lawsuit.

The woman says she found out about the video in December 2013 when one of her sorority sisters said she had “some terrible news” to tell her and recounted to the plaintiff that a member of the baseball team told her about the video and its wide distribution.

“Plaintiff was immediately embarrassed, disgusted, humiliated and distraught,” the suit states.

The woman says she sought counseling that night and postponed her final exams because she was unable to focus. She was “taunted and harassed” on campus the next semester by other students who saw the video, and she withdrew from several classes and postponed exams because of her distress, according to her court papers.

Bozoian and Adler are no longer members of the Southern California baseball program while Marc Huberman has been the Trojans best pitcher this season. He is currently 6-4 including four saves with a 2.37 ERA.

Rachel Caton of USC Athletics Media Relations stated the following on Huberman’s status:

He is on the postseason roster and has full status with the team.

The university has previously done a thorough investigation of the issue and athletics has nothing to do with it because it was a university judicial affairs issue.

Thanks,

Rachel Caton

It will be interesting to see if the USC administration allow him to play in the NCAA Regional with this latest news.
