Big 12 getting a lot of respect. Interesting that the eventual Big 12 Champs, OSU, will not host but UT and Tech do. I am guessing RPI weighs heavily on that decision and being a Tech fan, I am ok with that 🙂

I am glad the big 12 is getting it’s props. I don’t see the state of TX getting 5 regionals. I know RPI weighs heavily, but don’t see it outweighing OK State taking series from all those Big 12 regional hosts.

wont happen because they wont send south carolina to a top 4 team they’ll either slide in at number 7 or 8 national seed or play a 5-8 seed in a super. book that

Jack Fletcher May 13, 2014 - 7:43 pm

Huh? Why would you think that? There are no seeding considerations after the top 8.

Brian Foley May 14, 2014 - 2:48 pm

Exactly

Much better projections this week. One thing: Texas Tech won’t host as the fourth best Big12 team. That would absolutely go to Oklahoma State.

It’s nice to see that Josh pays attention to the comments. Last week Kentucky was a host…won their series….and now they are a #2. Right where they should be. Good adjustment, Josh.

Brian Foley May 13, 2014 - 8:06 pm

And Kentucky’s RPI got worse…even from winning the series

Jack Fletcher May 13, 2014 - 8:08 pm

Irrelevant.

UH (40-13) Rice (34-17)
UH swept the season series 3 games to 0. How on earth do you justify having rice seeded higher than UH?

loose bruce May 14, 2014 - 2:43 pm

Do you see any scenario, Brian, where Columbia could be a three seed?

Brian Foley May 14, 2014 - 2:47 pm

Negative…they can’t get up high enough for a three in the RPI

Texas AND Tech hosting over Oklahoma St? No way.

And you have Stanford as a #2 seed at 24-22? What the hell? In every other projection I’ve seen they aren’t even on the field.

Right now the SoCon and SLC tourney winners are out so where do you put SHSU, who didn’t even make the championship game and where do you place SELA, who won the thing? Georgia Southern won the SoCon. Again, WCU did not make the final game. B12? UT was 13-11 in conference play and went 1-2 in their conf championship. How do they always get a Regional; even when they suck?
