On Friday night, Cal State Fullerton and San Francisco needed a special edition. The Titans and Dons set a new Goodwin Field record for the longest game played.
USC continued its walk-off magic, UCLA got the first win in a big regional rematch with Cal Poly and Long Beach State broke out the whooping stick.

San Francisco 6, #2 Cal State Fullerton 5
After being 0-for-7, Brendan Hendricks dropped a bomb in his final at bat to right field to push the Dons to a win in the 19TH INNING. Koby Gauna was absolutely remarkable in relief, throwing nine shutout innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out eight. Top prospects Matt Chapman (2-8, R 2B, 3 RBI) and Bradley Zimmer (2-7, 2 R, 3B, HR, 4 RBI, BB) led the offenses.
#10 UCLA 5, #22 Cal Poly 2
Cal Poly (4-1) ace Matt Imhof took a no-hitter into the sixth inning last year against UCLA in the Los Angeles Regional, but the  Bruins (4-1) jumped on him early Friday night. Leadoff hitter Brian Carroll singled and came around to score and never looked back.
James Kaprielian (7 IP, ER, 9 K) was fantastic, but the story was the presence of freshman Luke Persico in the lineup. Persico was a perfect 4-for-4, including three extra-base hits: R, 2B, 2 3B, RBI.

USC 4, North Dakota State 3
USC (5-0) continues to find a way to win games. Trailing 3-0 heading into the eighth inning, the Trojans got a pair of runs to trim the lead and set up their third walk-off win of the season. Down to their final strike, USC got a two-run single by Timmy Robinson to take the series opener with NDSU (0-1).
Pepperdine 5, Utah Valley 0
Corey Miller pitched a masterpiece for Pepperdine (4-1). He completed the rare double-digit strikeout (11 K), less-than-100-pitch complete game. Miller needed only 93 pitches to finish off a two-hit shutout of the Wolverines (2-4). Aaron Brown was 1-for-2 with three RBI and a stolen base. Bryan Langlois had two hits, two runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk.

UC Santa Barbara 3, San Jose State 2 (10 innings)
Robby Nesovic doubled home Joey Epperson in the 10th inning to keep UC Santa Barbara (2-0) unbeaten. Brett Bautista had three hits for San Jose State. The Spartans got the tying run in scoring position in the 10th, but Dillon Tate came on and picked up his first save.
Texas State 2, UC Riverside 0
The Highlanders (3-2) entered batting .365 as a team, but were held to only four hits by Bobcats ace Lucas Humpal, who threw a complete game shutout. Nick Vilter had two of UCR’s hits. Jacob Smigelski threw well, but took the loss: 6 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, 7 K.
 #8 Oregon 12, Loyola Marymount 2
The Ducks (5-0) broke open a back-and-forth 3-2 game with an eight-run eighth inning that all started with a dropped bunt popup. Tyler Baumgartner had three doubles and two RBI to lead Oregon. Colin Welmon took the loss for the Lions: 7.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R (3 ER), BB, 6 K. Austin Miller reached three times for LMU (2-3).

Long Beach State 11, #19 Arizona State 0,
Now that’s how you get your first win! I said in the weekend preview, the Dirtbags had to find some more hits after struggling against Vanderbilt and Pepperdine, but sometimes you just have to do more with less. Long Beach State only had seven hits, but took advantage of nine walks and dominated the Sun Devils.
The Dirtbags broke out with a seven-run third inning (besting their total runs in the first four games) and added a four-run seventh. Arizona State couldn’t do anything against Nick Sabo: 8 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 8 K. Richard Prigatano and Ino Patron combined for four runs, five hits and five RBI. Prigatano added a SB. Patron hit Long Beach’s first home run at Blair Field this season.
West Virginia 6, San Diego State 2
The Aztecs (3-2) fell in the series opener to West Virginia (2-2) and the Mountainteers ace Harrison Musgrave (6 IP, 2 ER, 8 K). Mike RoBards allowed four runs in six inning. Tyler France supplied a two-run double for SDSU’s only runs.
Seattle 4, Cal State Northridge 2
Jerry Keel (6.2 IP, 3 ER) fell to 0-2 on the season as the Matadors continued to struggle putting runs on the board. Chester Pak and Daniel Timmerman each reached three times. Northridge managed a season-high nine hits, but only put up two runs. They have only scored eight runs in five games. Â Seattle DH Michael McCann was 4-for-5 with a double, homer and three RBI.

Wright State 3, UC Irvine 1
Mike Gillespie gambled choosing to save ace Andrew Morales for Saturday’s matchup against No. 19 Arizona State. Elliott Surrey was solid (5 IP, 2 ER, 9 K), but  the ‘Eaters managed only three hits in seven innings against Travis Hissong.
San Diego 17, Northern Kentucky 3
Louie Lechich homered twice as the Toreros (3-1) pounded out 19 runs on 18 hits. PJ Conlon struck out nine and allowed one earned run in seven innings.
