Bracket Two

Bracket 1 Preview available here

#8 Florida (29-27, 14-16)

Florida was one of the top teams in the SEC three weeks ago coming off of three straight series wins. However entering into the SEC Tournament, the Gators head to Hoover following three consecutive series losses. If Florida can get back to the baseball they were playing three weeks ago, it would strongly help the Gators as they hope to show the selection committee that they truly deserve a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Series Wins Over: Ole Miss (2-1), South Carolina (3-0), Missouri (2-1), Tennessee (2-1),

Series Losses Against: Kentucky (1-2), Vanderbilt (1-2), Mississippi State (1-2), LSU (0-3), Auburn (1-2), Georgia (1-2)

#9 Texas A&M (30-25, 13-16)

As one of the two new additions to the SEC, the Aggies have found their way to Hoover for their SEC Tournament debut. Coming off of a series win at Tennessee, the Aggies will face the Florida Gators who they have yet to play in 2013. As another bubble team with a solid RPI, success in Hoover could give Texas A&M the edge they need to receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Series Wins Over: Georgia (3-0), Ole Miss (2-1), Missouri (3-0), Tennessee (2-1),

Series Losses Against: South Carolina (0-3), Auburn (1-2), Mississippi State (0-3), Arkansas (1-2), Alabama (0-2), LSU (1-2),

#5 Mississippi State (40-16, 16-14)

Last year’s SEC Tournament champs, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, head to Hoover with excellent momentum from a strong series win over South Carolina. The Bulldogs look to reclaim their SEC Tournament title as they open up play in Hoover against Missouri on Tuesday. Mississippi State has not faced Missouri yet this season. A successful tournament in Hoover could solidify the Bulldogs as an NCAA Regional host.

Series Wins Over: Florida (2-1), Texas A&M (3-0), Auburn (2-1), Alabama (3-0), South Carolina (2-1)

Series Losses Against: LSU (1-2), Kentucky (1-2), Arkansas (1-2), Vanderbilt (0-3), Ole Miss (1-2),

#12 Missouri (18-31, 10-20)

As the other new addition to the SEC, the Tigers will also be making their SEC Tournament Debut on Tuesday. The Tigers won the Big 12 Championship in their final season with the conference last year and they are set to face the returning SEC tournament champions of Mississippi State. With momentum following a series win over Kentucky, the Tigers (who were picked to finish last in the SEC) enter the tournament with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Series Wins Over: Georgia (2-1), Auburn (2-1), Kentucky (2-1)

Series Losses Against: South Carolina (1-2), Tennessee (1-2), LSU (0-3), Vanderbilt (0-3), Florida (1-2), Texas A&M (0-3), Alabama (1-2),

#1 Vanderbilt (48-7, 26-3)

The unanimously ranked #1 Vanderbilt Commodores return to Hoover after finishing second in the SEC Tournament in 2012. The Commodores enter the tournament with a record–breaking 26-3 conference record that includes no series losses. As one of the most complete teams in college baseball with excellent pitching and strength at the plate, the Commodores have the biggest target on their back as they will face the winner of Florida and Texas A&M on Wednesday.

Series Wins Over: Auburn (3-0), Florida (2-1), Tennessee (3-0), Ole Miss (3-0), Missouri (3-0), Georgia (2-1), Mississippi State (3-0), South Carolina (2-0), Kentucky (3-0), Alabama (2-1)

Series Losses Against: N/A

#4 South Carolina (39-16, 17-12)

The Gamecocks head to Hoover after a tough series loss at Mississippi State. Fortunately for the Gamecocks, the team has time to rest their pitching with a bye on Tuesday before they face the winner of Mississippi State and Missouri on Wednesday. The Gamecocks’ resume thus far gives them a very strong chance at hosting, however success in Hoover would almost definitely secure Columbia as a host site.

Series Wins Over: Missouri (2-1), Texas A&M (3-0), Tennessee (3-0), Kentucky (3-0), LSU (2-1), Georgia (3-0),

Series Losses Against: Arkansas (0-3), Florida (0-3), Vanderbilt (0-2), Mississippi State (1-2),
