Top 100 Countdown: 62. Dillon Overton (Oklahoma)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 62 with Oklahoma sophomore Dillon Overton. The Weatherford, Oklahoma native attended Weatherford High School where he was a four year letterwinner. His senior year saw him throw 97 innings accumulating a 15-2 record with 164 strikeouts and 19 walks. He was also an accomplished hitter with a .485 batting average with 17 home runs, 64 runs batted in, 15 doubles, three triples and two stolen bases during his senior season.

Overton became an important arm for the Sooners as a freshman making 23 appearances including seven starts totaling 74.1 innings of work. He finished the season with a record of 8-4 while having an ERA of 2.30. He was named a 2011 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American and a 2011 All-Big 12 honorable mention and freshman team honoree.
