Ray Tanner of South Carolina won his 1,000th career game on Sunday as the Gamecocks defeated Vanderbilt 2-0 to stay in first place. Tanner didn’t like to be in the spotlight as he rather have the focus be on his players instead of him. He stated to Neil White the following: "I’m kind of glad it’s behind us, I don’t like being out front. I’d rather be in the background as much as possible. I like it that way."
