SHREVEPORT – The Centenary baseball team and head coach Ed McCann have announced the 2010 schedule. The season will get started with College World Series finalist LSU on Feb. 19 in Baton Rouge.

The Gents and Tigers will meet in a three game series beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium. The home opener will be against Grambling State on Feb. 26 in a four game I-20 battle.

Centenary will also play a game at Texas A&M on March 16 and to close the month the Gents will travel to Arkansas for a pair of games. Last season Centenary went 2-1 against the Aggies and Hogs, as the Gents defeated No. 1 A&M 8-4 and No.18 Arkansas 8-3.

The conference schedule will get started at Southern Utah on April 8 and conclude on May 22 at IPFW. Centenary will host Summit League foes North Dakota State, Western Illinois and Oral Roberts.

“This schedule has a nice balance of regional opponents and teams that we never see,” said McCann. “I’m excited to start the season at LSU, who is still currently trying to win the College World Series.”
