Random Thoughts for Day 3 of the CWS

Here are my thoughts on Day 3 of the College World Series that didn’t fit into a recap today.

  • Virginia’s Keith Werman has really stood out at this CWS with his solid bat and being an all around exciting player.
  • Brian O’Connor is a real rising coach in this industry and UVA has a great one in him.
  • What was Dave Serrano of Fullerton doing playing his right fielder closer to centerfield then right and playing near softball defense for Werman?
  • Fullerton looked over matched in both games of the CWS and really didn’t look like they belonged which is sad since they have a strong team that failed to show up.
  • Arkansas had no chance tonight after Brett Eibner only lasted 1.2 innings while throwing only 59 pitches.
  • LSU’s pitcher Louis Coleman only went six innings but gave up one run which was plenty for the powerful Tigers offense.
