CBB Players of the Week (March 18th)

The College Baseball Blog for the second straight year will be naming a single Player of the Week and a Pitcher of the Week. This award is selected by a vote on by the writers of The College Baseball Blog. This week we honor New Mexico State’s shortstop Bryan Marquez as out Player of the Week while Ryan Berry picks up our Pitcher of the Week award.

Bryan Marquez had an outstanding week with New Mexico State by hitting four homers and driving in 13 runs last week. He went 9-15 at the plate which was good enough for a batting average of .600. His biggest home run came on Sunday in an 11-10 victory over Northern Colorado when he hit a game-tying grand slam.

Ryan Berry continued his hot streak by pitching a complete game one hitter on Friday night in a 4-1 victory over the San Diego Toreros. It was Berry’s third consecutive complete game after victories over Notre Dame and Texas A&M in the two previous weeks.
