ATLANTA, Ga. — Junior outfielder Charlie Blackmon drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th as part of a 4-RBI evening to lead the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 7-6 victory over the Mercer Bears. Freshman Jeff Rowland added two hits, and closer Chris Hicks earned his 6th save of the season.
Mercer was led by right fielder John Dortch and first baseman Mike Armstrong, each with 3 hits for the Bears.
The Yellow Jackets move to 15-4 on the season (3-3 ACC) and face Duke this weekend. Mercer falls to 9-10 and takes on Atlantic Sun newcomer Florida Gulf Coast starting Saturday
