HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University head baseball coach Todd Asalon has announced the team’s schedule for the upcoming 2019 season. The Norse are scheduled to play 56 games this season, including 20 at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.
- NKU opens the 2019 season at Western Kentucky from Feb. 15-17. After the weekend series, the team travels to Tennessee on Feb. 19.
- The Norse hit the road from Feb. 22-24 to face North Carolina A&T.
- The team heads to Kentucky on Feb. 27 for a matchup against the Wildcats. Last season, the Norse defeated then No. 6 Kentucky by a score of 8-6 on March 7, 2018.
- NKU begins March with a road series against VMI from March 1-3.
- The Norse play their first home game against Rio Grande on March 5.
- After a weekend series at Alabama from March 8-10, the Norse host Miami (Ohio) on March 13.
- NKU opens Horizon League play at home against Youngstown State from March 15-17.
- Following a trip to Ohio State on March 19, the Norse return home to face Milwaukee in Horizon League action from March 22-24.
- The team hosts Butler on March 26, before travelling to Oakland for a Horizon League series.
- The Norse make the short trip to Miami (Ohio) on April 3 and host Miami-Hamilton on April 4.
- After a home weekend series against Wright State from April 5-7, the team travels to Louisville on April 9.
- NKU plays host to Eastern Kentucky on April 10, before 12-straight road games.
- The Norse travel to UIC from April 12-14, before heading to Eastern Kentucky on April 16.
- NKU then heads to Youngstown State from April 18-20.
- A road matchup at Butler is scheduled for April 23, and the team heads to Milwaukee from April 26-28.
- NKU makes a short trip across the Ohio River to face Xavier on May 1.
- The Norse finally return home May 3-5 to take on Oakland in Horizon League action.
- The team heads north May 10-12 to face Wright State.
- After a road contest against Cincinnati on May 14, the team concludes the regular season with a home series against UIC.
- The Horizon League Tournament is scheduled for May 22-25.
The Norse return four student-athletes who earned All-Horizon League honors last season. Will Haueter and Griffin Doersching were named to the All-Horizon League First Team, and Doersching also earned the Horizon League Freshman of the Year award. Andrew Bacon and Collin Hohman joined Doersching on the All-Horizon League Freshman Team.
