Arizona State releases 2016 Schedule

TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Baseball enters the second season of the program’s new era at Phoenix Municipal Stadium and the 2016 schedule, announced by Head Coach Tracy Smith, features 34 games at home and 17 against 2015 NCAA Tournament teams.

A total of 19 Sun Devil games are set to be televised on the Pac-12 Networks, including 11 at home and eight on the road.

The Devils host five Pac-12 series’ against 2015 NCAA Tournament qualifiers Cal, Oregon and USC, as well as Utah and Washington. Seven non-conference teams also come to town, including Xavier, Nevada, Eastern Michigan, UC Davis, San Diego, UNLV and New Mexico.

In addition, a team from Tokyo, Meiji University, plays at Phoenix Muni in an exhibition game on March 15.

Arizona State opens the season on Feb. 19 with five games in five days as it hosts a four-game series with Xavier over the weekend, including a double-header on Feb. 20, and a midweek contest against Nevada Feb. 23.

The Devils go on the road Feb. 26-28 for a three-game set at Long Beach State and return to the Valley for weekend series against Eastern Michigan March 4-6 before heading back to Southern California for a pair of midweek games versus 2015 College World Series participant Cal State Fullerton March 8-9.

ASU begins Pac-12 play on the road against Oregon State March 18-20, and follows with a pair of Thursday-Saturday conference series’, including at home versus Utah March 24-26 and on the road against Washington State March 31-April 2.

Washington and Cal both come to town April 8-10 and April 15-17, respectively, before ASU takes on Stanford at Sunken Diamond in California. The Devils return to Phoenix Muni for consecutive three-game home series’ versus New Mexico April 29-May and Oregon May 6-8.

The annual five-game Territorial Cup series with Arizona begins at Phoenix Muni with two Tuesday night games on April 12 and 26, respectively, and heads to Tucson for a three-game set May 13-15.

ASU closes out the season with the Los Angeles schools as the Devils face UCLA at Jackie Robinson Field May 20-22 and host USC in the final series of the year May 27-29.

The rest of ASU’s non-conference schedule includes three games at home with UC Davis March 11-13, and home-and-home midweek games with both UNLV April 19 and May 10 and San Diego March 22 and May 18.
