UPDATED: The Southland Conference has responded to the report of Oral Roberts joining their league with the following:

“STATEMENT ON MEMBERSHIP FROM THE SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE: The presidents of the Southland Conference member institutions continue to actively review and formulate plans for possible membership additions. While they are enthusiastically engaged, the presidents have chosen to work in a confidential manner, and will continue to do so throughout the process.”

ORIGINAL REPORT: Sources close to the situation have stated to College Baseball Daily that Oral Roberts will likely move to the Southland Conference in the near future in all sports. Oral Roberts is currently a member of the Summit League as they went 21-7 winning the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Eagles made the Fort Worth Regional Final dropping the deciding game to Dallas Baptist 11-9.

The conference is also talking with Houston Baptist and Abilene Christian to join but they are currently discussions only.
