The Oregon State baseball team will continue play in its Orange and Black World Series this week, with game three scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Practice is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. PT and the third game of the series will start shortly thereafter.

Fans are invited to come to Goss Stadium free of charge.

The Beavers will continue the series (if necessary) on Friday and Saturday, although the threat of inclement weather this weekend could force the series to be finished on Thursday and Friday. Check osubeavers.com for more information on the Orange and Black World Series.

Beavers in Roseburg

The Oregon State baseball team recently played a scrimmage in front of nearly 1,000 fans in Roseburg, two hours south of Corvallis. A photo gallery with nearly 50 images from the day can be found on osubeavers.com.

Beavers in Portland

Oregon State fans now have the opportunity to see the Baseball Civil War, presented by the Northwest Dodge Dealers, live in Portland. Tickets for games two (March 28) and three (March 29) of the series, to be held at PGE Park, are available at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 503-224-4400. Tickets for each game start at $6.

Saturday’s game will be played at 6 p.m. while the series finale on Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m. The series, which is the first matchup between the Ducks and Beavers since 1981, starts at 3 p.m., March 27 in Eugene.

The two games in Portland will be the fourth and fifth of the season at PGE Park for the Beavers, who will host perennial Midwest power Missouri State in the second Papé Grand Slam, March 13-15. Friday night’s series opener starts at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday’s at 2 p.m. The series finale Sunday begins at 1 p.m.

The Beavers played in the first Papé Grand Slam last season, taking 2-of-3 from eventual national runner-up Georgia.

Ticket information for the 2009 Papé Grand Slam will be released at a later date.
