Xavier releases 2015 Schedule

ScottGooginsXavier_thumb.jpgCINCINNATI – Head coach Scott Googins and Xavier baseball have officially announced their 2015 baseball schedule, which features a full slate of 55 games and 16 home tilts.

The defending BIG EAST Conference Tournament champions will host Seton Hall, Georgetown and Butler in league play while welcoming local opponents Wright State, Miami, Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati and Dayton to Hayden Field. Continue reading Xavier releases 2015 Schedule

  • Vanderbilt is making its 13th NCAA appearance, including its ninth straight under coach Tim Corbin’s direction.
  • Oregon is making its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, including third straight.
  • Clemson is making its 39th NCAA appearance – fifth-most all-time. The Tigers have been in the tournament 27 of the last 28 seasons.
  • Xavier is making the second appearance in program history. The other time was in 2009 as the Atlantic 10 Conference champion.

2014 Big East Preseason Conference Poll

BigEastLogoNEW YORK, N.Y. – Creighton, one of three conference newcomers this season, is the narrow favorite in BIG EAST baseball in 2014, according to the coaches poll announced on Thursday. The Bluejays claimed a poll-topping 32 points with two first-place votes, edging out Seton Hall and St. John’s for No. 1.

There was more good news for Creighton, as a league-high four players earned Preseason All-BIG EAST honors. Among them were senior outfielder Mike Gerber, who was named the Preseason Player of the Year, and sophomore hurler Tommy Strunc, who picked up Preseason Pitcher of the Year accolades. Xavier releases 2014 Schedule

ScottGooginsXavier.jpgCINCINNATI – The 2014 Xavier baseball schedule has been released by head coach Scott Googins, and features six contests against three teams that played in the 2013 College World Series (CWS) before opening play in the BIG EAST Conference.

2013 Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll Released

Xavier releases 2013 Schedule

CINCINNATI – Xavier baseball head coach Scott Googins has announced the upcoming 2013 schedule for the Musketeers. There are 57 games on the schedule, including 24 Atlantic 10 games.
Xavier opens the season on the road at College of Charleston with a three-game series from Feb. 15-17. The Musketeers will play a total 10 road games before opening its home portion of the schedule on March 5 against Miami (Ohio). Continue reading Xavier releases 2013 Schedule

Carolina took a commanding four-run lead after the first inning in game one and never looked back en route to a 10-2 season-opening victory over Xavier.

Tommy Coyle opened the year as he finished 2011 by reaching base safely for the 30th consecutive game with a single to left field in the first. Colin Moran followed with a single of his own before Cody Stubbs was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Jacob Stallings.
