Oregon overcomes New Mexico State

Eugene, Ore. – Twentieth-ranked Oregon scored once in the seventh and again in the eighth inning on Thursday to overcome winless New Mexico State 3-1 in the Ducks home opener at PK Park.

It was the first of a four-game series between the Ducks (4-1) and Aggies (0-5).

Austin Grebeck, in the game as a pinch-hitter, scored the go-ahead run for the Ducks. Catcher Shaun Chase unloaded a solo homer past the scoreboard in left-center in the eighth for the final margin.

2015 WAC Preseason Coaches Poll

WACLogoDENVER – Sacramento State is the preseason favorite to win the 2015 Western Athletic Conference baseball title and Hornets’ pitcher Brennan Leitao and Grand Canyon infielder Chad De La Guerra were selected as WAC Preseason Pitcher and Player of the Year respectively in a vote of the league’s 10 head coaches, who could not vote for their own team or players. Seattle University releases 2015 Schedule

CamChristianSeattleUSeattle University head baseball coach Donny Harrel and his staff have completed the 2015 competition schedule for the Redhawk baseball program, which includes a record 33 home games at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue as well as a special road trip across the country.

The Redhawks open the 2015 season with a four-game series against Saint Mary’s Feb. 13-15, followed by the first of four mid-week games throughout the season against the Portland Pilots Feb. 17, with each team hosting two games.
