(www.BigSouthSports.com) – Liberty’s and Coastal Carolina’s baseball programs have been chosen as the favorites in the Big South Conference’s annual preseason poll for the 2013 season in a vote of the League’s Head Coaches, the League announced today. In addition, the coaches voted Campbell’s Michael Felton and Jeff Kemp of Radford the Conference’s Preseason Co-Players of the Year, while Aaron Burke of Coastal Carolina was named the Big South Preseason Pitcher of the Year. VMI names Michael Roberts Assistant Coach

LEXINGTON, Va. – Former VMI catcher Michael Roberts has returned to the Institute, as he was named the new Keydet volunteer assistant coach Monday, August 20. This will be Roberts’ first post-graduate collegiate coaching role, as he replaces Nachion Moore, who recently accepted a full-time job at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tenn. 2012 Preseason Big South Coaches Poll Released

(www.BigSouthSports.com) – For the fifth consecutive year, Coastal Carolina University’s baseball team has been voted the Big South Conference’s preseason favorite by the League’s Head Baseball Coaches, it was announced today by the Conference office. Travis Beazley named Pitching Coach at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. – Travis Beazley, former Boston Red Sox minor leaguer and Randolph-Macon assistant coach, has been named the new pitching coach for VMI baseball, according to information released by the program Thursday.
Beazley joins VMI after spending a year as an assistant at Randolph-Macon, during which time he worked with the pitchers, infielders and hitters for the 2011 ODAC Champions and NCAA Regional participants. 2011 Brooks Wallace Award Watch List down to 10

As teams look toward Super Regional play, the list of players in the running for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award has been narrowed to 10.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Redshirt freshman David Trexler earned his first career victory as No. 7 Florida State rolled past Valdosta State, 10-2 at Dick Howser Stadium.
In a pre-arranged controlled start, Trexler (1-0) tossed three innings of shutout baseball, surrendering only a pair of infield singles.
