As we’re now well into the 2013 college baseball season, College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to Selection Monday with our latest 2013 Regional Projections.
For this week’s projections, instead of being solely compiled based on RPI like they have been done in past weeks, every aspect was taken into consideration. College Baseball Daily’s Ginger Poulson (@gingerpoulson) compiled this list after analyzing RPI, overall records, conference standings, overall talent and several other factors. FROM NCBWA RELEASE MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 14, today. North Carolina junior third baseman Colin Moran was named National Hitter of the Week, while Wichita State junior right-handed pitcher Cale Elam was named National Pitcher of the Week. FROM CBD NEWS SOURCE CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina baseball program announced its 2013 schedule on Thursday, a challenging slate that features 25 games against teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Carolina will host 36 games in Boshamer Stadium, including ACC series with Miami, Clemson, Maryland, Duke and Virginia.
Carolina will open the season with a seven-game home stand with Seton Hall coming in for a three-game series (Feb. 15-17) followed by a visit from 2012 College World Series participant Stony Brook (Feb. 22-24). Continue reading →

LUBBOCK, Texas —The College Baseball Hall of Fame announced Friday the 25 pitchers on the newest edition of the Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List.
The winner of the Pitcher of the Year Award, sponsored by Diamond Sports, will be announced on June 30 in Lubbock, Texas, as part of the annual College Baseball Night of Champions. The event features the presentation of numerous awards and the induction ceremony for this year’s Hall of Fame class.
“The pitchers on this list continue to demonstrate excellence on the mound,” said award co-chair Landon Holly. “As we’ve progressed through the season, we’ve been able to narrow down the list, but we’ve also added some players who’ve excelled in the second half of the regular season.” Continue reading →
