UMES names John O’Neil as Interim Head Coach

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has named assistant baseball coach John O’Neil Acting Head Coach on an interim basis, following the recent resignation of head coach Pedro Swann.

A 2008 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, O’Neil was currently in his fourth season as an assistant coach before his new appointment. Hired by former Hawks coach Will Gardner in 2012, O’Neil had previously served as the head coach of the Middlesex Rays in the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League, as well as an assistant at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and at his alma mater, Colby-Sawyer. Maryland-Eastern Shore releases 2014 Schedule

PedroSwannPRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men’s baseball team has released its 2014 schedule, it was announced today. The Hawks are set to play 14 home games at Hawk Stadium and 16 games in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The team has put together an out-of-conference schedule that consists of teams all over the East Coast, several which are coming off of solid seasons in 2013. UMES completes Coaching Staff

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Head coach Will Gardner has announced his additions to the coaching staff for the 2012 season. John O’Neil joins the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as an assistant coach plus Luis Mena returns to serve as a student assistant for the Hawks.

2010 MEAC Preseason Coaches Poll

MEACLogo The MEAC Conference announced its 2010 pre-season baseball award winners on Wednesday. The B-CU Wildcats were named the unanimous pick to win the team championship for a fifth straight season.

Wildcat sophomore LHP Ali Simpson was named the pre-season pitcher of the year and senior C. J. Lauriello was named the co-player of the year in the voting by conference head baseball coaches and sports information directors.
