LouisvilleFeaturedImagePROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Louisville Cardinals enter the season as the unanimous 2014 Preseason American Athletic Conference favorite after advancing to the College World Series for the second time in school history last season. Louisville received eight first-place votes and 64 points in the coaches’ preseason poll. Three teams tied for second place, as UCF, UConn and Houston all received 47 points. Continue reading

(Oct. 2, 2013) – After making a run to the BIG EAST Tournament Championship and an NCAA Regional appearance in 2013, the UConn baseball team has announced its 56-game schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. Top 5 Standouts from UConn Scout Day

UConnTeamMeetingBaseball was in the air Thursday, Sept. 5th in Storrs, CT as the 2013-2014 Huskies took the field as part of their annual scout day. This day allows all of the players to showcase their talents in front of Major League scouts and try to open a few eyes in the process. After going 31-27-1 last season, the Huskies hope that their talented underclass, as well as their experienced veterans will be able to pull together a championship season.   Continue reading

BLACKSBURG – Sean Keselica had two hits and an RBI to lift Virginia Tech past Connecticut 3-1 in an elimination game at the NCAA Blacksburg regional held at English Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Hokies (40-21) advanced to play for the regional championship later Sunday evening against Oklahoma. UConn (35-28) saw its season come to an end.  Continue reading

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech got strong pitching from starter Devin Burke, and both Andrew Rash and Chad Pinder hit solo home runs to lift the Hokies to a 9-1 victory over Coastal Carolina in an NCAA regional game at English Field on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Zagunis and Rash each drove in three runs for Tech (39-21), which staved off elimination in the double-elimination format. Coastal Carolina (37-23) saw its season come to an end. Continue reading

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Sooners were down but not out, rallying to defeat Coastal Carolina, 7-3, in their NCAA Regional opener at English Field Friday.

Oklahoma (41-19) trailed 3-0 after two innings, but scored seven unanswered runs and shut down the Chanticleer offense with a complete-game from Jonathan Gray (10-2). Continue reading
