SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Davis scored five runs in the 11th inning, and junior catcher Jake Jefferies had a career-best five hits and six RBI’s off three two-run doubles to help the Aggies claim an 18-14 victory and series win over UC Santa Barbara in a Big West Conference baseball game live on Big West TV Sunday afternoon at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. PULLMAN, Wash. – Junior catcher Jake Jefferies had a game-high five hits and drove in three runs, and UC Davis used a season-high 21 hits to overcome a seven-run deficit and defeat Washington State, 13-11, in a nonconference baseball game at Bailey-Brayton Field Sunday afternoon. The Aggie win evened the final series at 2-2.

Long Beach State Tabbed Preseason Favorite in Big West

Receiving 77 points and five first-place votes, Long Beach State has been selected to win its first Big West title since 2003, according to the 2008 Big West Conference preseason poll conducted by the league’s nine head coaches.
