The Gauchos responded to his efforts, providing enough offense for a 6-4 victory in their postseason appearance since 2001.

In a rematch of a game that saw top-seeded Vanderbilt fall to nine-seeded Texas A&M earlier in the tournament, the Commodores defeated the Aggies 3-0 on Friday evening to eliminate Texas A&M from the tournament.
The Commodores’ performance in Friday night’s game made it evident as to why Vanderbilt is the unanimously top-ranked team in the country. Offensively, the Commodores were able to put up fourteen hits, defensively they did not have a single error, and on the mound Vanderbilt’s Tyler Beede pitched a two-hit gem to lead the team to victory. The reigning SEC Tournament Champion Mississippi State Bulldogs are making another run at it. The Bulldogs secured themselves a spot in one of Saturday’s games with a 6-4 win over Texas A&M. Mississippi State is 3-0 so far in the 2013 SEC Tournament having already beaten Missouri, South Carolina and now Texas A&M.

Nine-seeded Texas A&M defeated the consensually first-ranked and top-seeded Vanderbilt Commodores 5-0 on Wednesday evening. Aggie starting pitcher Parker Ray pitched eight scoreless innings allowing just three hits while walking three and striking out three. Continue reading
The Aggies of Texas A&M eliminated the Florida Gators with a 6-3 victory in the single -elimination SEC Tournament game on Tuesday evening. Daniel Mengden pitched a complete game for the Aggies, striking out 11 while allowing just five hits and one earned run.

#8 Florida (29-27, 14-16)
Florida was one of the top teams in the SEC three weeks ago coming off of three straight series wins. However entering into the SEC Tournament, the Gators head to Hoover following three consecutive series losses. If Florida can get back to the baseball they were playing three weeks ago, it would strongly help the Gators as they hope to show the selection committee that they truly deserve a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Arkansas Razorbacks are predicted to win the 2013 Southeastern Conference baseball championship, as voted by the league’s 14 baseball coaches in the 22nd annual preseason SEC poll.
The Razorbacks, ranked No. 1 nationally in the preseason USA Today Coaches’ Poll, seek to capture their third SEC Championship and first since 2004. Arkansas returns five position starters and 10 pitchers from its 2012 squad which advanced to the College World Series semifinals. Continue reading
