KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Head Coach Dave Serrano officially announced the 2015 Volunteer Baseball schedule, featuring 31 home games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium with first-ever match-ups against Rutgers, UC Irvine and Florida International.
In total, the Volunteers will play 27 of their 55 regular season games against nine 2014 NCAA postseason participants, including College World Series squads Vanderbilt, UC Irvine and Ole Miss. Continue reading Tennessee releases 2015 Schedule

Tennessee junior outfielder Christin Stewart spent the summer of 2014 with the USA Collegiate National Team where he led the team with a .383 batting average while driving in 16 runs. Tennessee Volunteers reporter Dani Klupenger put together a report on Tennessee senior pitcher Nick Williams and former Kentucky catcher Michael Williams. The two brothers decided to go to SEC rivals schools which set up some interesting match ups in the past couple of seasons. Michael graduated last season from Kentucky and is right behind the plate this year supporting his brother. You can check out the video below. Wrapping up the weekend action Baylor fought back to get a massive 5-4 win over Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. After working around an error that led to two runs in the opening frame, starter Austin Stone settled in to throw six strong innings and lead the Bears to the win. Josh Michalec came on and shut the door in the 9th to earn his 6th save of the season to preserve the Bears victory. Previously dropping Friday’s game 11-0, Baylor showed impressive resolve earning back-to-back one-run wins over one of the top teams in the country. On a weekend full of top 25 showdowns, Cal State Fullerton made sure they stood out. Going to Eugene, OR to face an 8-0 Ducks team was a tall task but the Titans not only won the series but swept Oregon in their own ballpark, an incredible feat to say the least. Fullerton struggled a bit in the first two weeks of the season coming into the series at 4-3 overall, but showed why the club had such high expectations and a pre-season #1 ranking. Sunday’s action saw Cal Poly get a pivotal series-clinching win in the rubber game over UCLA 9-1. The victory was huge for the Mustangs, who dropped the first game on Friday only to show a lot of character and bounce back with two straight wins on the road to take the series. Offensively Nick Torres and Brian Mundell continued to be the story as the duo combined for five hits and five RBI on the day.
