2013 Baton Rouge NCAA Regional Preview

BatonRougeRegionalFor the fourth time since 2008, the LSU Tigers will host a regional, and if history is any indication, they will be the heavy favorites for a reason other than being one of the country’s top teams. The Tigers, who are the No. 4 national seed in the field of 64, have won 14 of the last 16 regionals they have hosted. LSU will have some tough competition, however, against the powerful bats of in-state foe No. 2 seed Louisiana-Lafayette. No. 3 seed Sam Houston State and No. 4 seed Jackson State round out the regional.  Continue reading

2013 NCAA Regional Projections (April 17th)

13regionalprojections_smAs we’re now well into the 2013 college baseball season, College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to Selection Monday with our latest 2013 Regional Projections.

For this week’s projections, instead of being solely compiled based on RPI like they have been done in past weeks, every aspect was taken into consideration. College Baseball Daily’s Ginger Poulson (@gingerpoulson) compiled this list after analyzing RPI, overall records, conference standings, overall talent and several other factors. 2011 MLB Draft News and Notes for August 7th

The MLB Signing Deadline is fast approaching as all teams have until midnight on August 15th to sign their prospects or they will head to college. Here is the latest news and notes from around the country.

Bubba Starling’s career with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the football field is on hold right now according to Huskers head football coach Bo Pelini in the Omaha-World Herald. Starling was selected by Kansas City Royals with the fifth overall pick and is being advised by Scott Boras. If he does not sign with the Royals, Starling will get back on the practice field with the Nebraska football program and will not be able to sign with a MLB team until the 2014 MLB Draft.  Continue reading
