2010 NCAA Baseball Attendance Leaders

The NCAA released their 2010 NCAA Baseball Attendance Figures which is led by four SEC schools. The LSU Tigers lead the pack with an average of 10,673 fans in 37 games. Arkansas comes in second with 7,704 fans while Ole Miss comes in third with 6,759 fans edging out fourth place South Carolina by an average of one fan. Sun Belt Players of the Week (April 20th)

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana-Lafayette’s Greg Fontenot and Zach Osborne are the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as voted on by the league’s member institutions.

Fontenot, a local Lafayette product, put an impressive week as the Cajuns rolled to four-straight wins, including a series sweep of conference foe Middle Tennessee. The sophomore was instrumental in ULL’s victories, helping on both sides of the ball with his errorless performance at shortstop and his .583 batting average. Continue reading

Sun Belt Conference Baseball Player/Pitcher of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana-Lafayette’s Les Smith and South Alabama’s Matt Jackson have been named the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as decided on by the league’s member institutions. The award marks the second this season for Jackson, as the Jaguars ace also earned the award the first week of the season, Feb. 23.
