This past weekend we went down to Georgia State and I think I can speak for everyone and say it was a disappointment. I do not think GSU won the series; I think we lost it. CBD Journal with Western Illinois (Feb. 15th)

As the season approaches the Leathernecks have not been forgotten in the preseason polls. We have been predicted to finish second, and in the past second would have been satisfying. Coach Villano has brought a new swagger to WIU Baseball. New additions to the coaching staff of Shane Davis and Mike Vucsko, have become a great fit for the program to help assist the ball club with Cooper Stewart. Together they have done plenty of remodeling in their time here at Western, and now have the luxury of coaching a team they have built through personal recruitment. The newest crop of freshman added to the squad this fall are ready to make an impact and are just a preview of what is to come. Continue reading

2012 Summit League Preseason Coaches Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts is favored to win its 15th-straight Summit League Baseball Tournament title in a vote among the league’s seven head coaches. The Golden Eagles received six first-place votes and 36 points. Continue reading


Oral Roberts Baseball reaches out to Tulsa Community

Tulsa, Okla. – The ORU baseball team has been focused on more than just baseball these days, and although the baseball season is right around the corner, Head Coach Rob Walton has his team working hard to serve the Tulsa community through various charity and outreach events.

In September the team volunteered for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure-a foundation that raises awareness and funds research for breast cancer-helping raise more than $900,000 for the cause. Continue reading


Top 100 Countdown: 15. Bo Cuthbertson (Southern Utah)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 15 with Southern Utah senior Bo Cuthbertson. The Glendale, Arizona native attended Cactus High School where he was a four year letter winner. As a senior, he recorded a .418 average with one home run, two doubles, four triples and 16 stolen bases. He finished his career with a .380 average, one home run, 30 doubles and 30 stolen bases He was also a two-time first-team all-region and honorable mention all-state honoree and a three-time participant at the Arizona state high school all-star game.
