Arizona outfielder Steve Selsky underwent surgery last Friday for a fracture in his right hand. The Wildcats will use sophomore Robert Refsnyder and freshman Johnny Field to fill in right field until Selsky comes back. We continue the countdown today at number 62 with Arizona’s RF Steve Selsky. The junior from Manhattan Beach, California, won a CIF championship with Loyola High School in 2007, a team that also included Danny Muno of Fresno State. Regular-season MVP Kolten Wong (Hawaii) and home run champion Jordan Ribera (Fresno State) lead the list of stars who were named to the 2010 Cape Cod Baseball League’s All-League team that was announced by commissioner Paul Galop this weekend.
A total of 24 players were selected to the elite team, with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox and the Orleans Firebirds each placing four on the squad. The lone representative from the Cape League champion Cotuit Kettleers is starting pitcher Austin Wood (St. Petersburg), who went 3-0 with a 0.74 ERA this season.

Michael Goodnight, Yarmouth-Dennis, RHP
Yarmouth-Dennis’ Michael Goodnight (Houston) is this week’s Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week. Goodnight has been lights out in his second year for Y-D, and put together his strongest performance of the season last week in a 2-0 victory over Cotuit. He came up one out short of recording a one-hit shutout, striking out nine over 8.2 innings. The college sophomore is following up a strong 2009 with Y-D (2-0, 2.52 ERA) with another promising season. He is tied with three other Red Sox for third in the league with three wins and also sports a 2.10 ERA.
Here are the Top Performers in the Cape Cod Baseball League for July 25th. There was only three games played including one doubleheader between Orleans and Falmouth. The other three games on the evening that were rained out will be made up in the near future.
