Southern Miss releases 2014 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Twenty-nine regular-season home games, hosting the Conference USA championship and playing 11 different teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a season ago highlights the 2014 Southern Miss baseball schedule which was released today.

The Golden Eagles, which shared the Conference USA regular season title last spring and reached the league’s tournament championship game, looks to go back to the postseason after a two-year absence. Continue reading Southern Miss releases 2014 Schedule

2013 Conference USA Preseason Coaches Poll and Teams

Rice senior infielder Christian Stringer was chosen as the preseason Player of the Year, while Owls junior right-hander Austin Kubitza was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year. Rice was chosen to win the league’s championship. The Owls have won either the regular season or tournament championship in each of its seven years as a member of C-USA. Southern Miss names Todd McInnis as Assistant Coach

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry announced Monday the return of former Golden Eagle pitching standout Todd McInnis as volunteer assistant coach.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Ten games against Southeastern Conference opponents, as well as a total of 22 contests against teams that reached the postseason a year ago, highlight the 2013 Southern Miss baseball schedule released Thursday.

Darkness forced the suspension of Game Two in the Keaney-Navy World Series on Friday evening, but when play resumed on Saturday, sophomore Joe Landi scored on redshirt junior Pat Fortunato’s single up the middle to give Keaney the 3-2 win, as well as its fifth consecutive KNWS title.
