Here is your SEC Recap for May 13th.

#1 Vanderbilt 4 #6 Florida 2 (Top 6/Suspended)

Nashville, Tenn, – Friday night’s game between Vanderbilt and Florida has been suspended due to rain with the Commodores leading 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Friday night’s game will resume at 1 p.m. at Hawkins Field and the teams will finish the full nine innings. Saturday’s scheduled game will begin 40 minutes after the completion of the suspended game. SEC Recap for May 7th

Here is your SEC Recap for May 7th.

#1 Vanderbilt 10 Kentucky 3

Lexington, Ky. – Vanderbilt bounced back to even the series with Kentucky in a 10-3 win Saturday night at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Commodores’ starter Grayson Garvin cruised through eight innings to notch his team-best 10th win of the year. The big lefty allowed one run on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Garvin scattered two hits over the first five innings before allowing a home run to Chad Wright to open the bottom of the sixth inning.  Continue reading

SEC Recap for April 30th

Here is your SEC Recap for April 30th.

#2 Vanderbilt 10 Tennessee 1

Nashville, Tenn, – Vanderbilt pounded out 17 hits en route to a 10-1 win Saturday over Tennessee at Hawkins Field to clinch the team’s 10th series victory of the season.

The Commodores struck first scoring in the bottom of the first on Jason Esposito’s RBI-double but the Volunteers picked up a solo home run from Ethan Bennett in the second to tie the game. Aaron Westlake’s solo home run in the third put the Dores back out in front to stay with VU scoring eight runs over the next five innings to put the game away.

#2 South Carolina 13 Mississippi State 4

Starkville, Miss. – Second ranked South Carolina batted around in the fourth and fifth innings to score nine runs on its way to a 13-4 win over Mississippi State to win the rubber game of a three-game SEC baseball series. Carolina is 31-8 and 14-4 in the SEC while MSU drops to 24-16 and 7-11 in the SEC. Continue reading

#2 South Carolina 8 Mississippi State 2

Starkville, Miss. – Second ranked South Carolina scored in six of nine innings with Christian Walker going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and Peter Mooney, Evan Marzilli and Robert Beary driving in two runs apiece as the Gamecocks defeated Mississippi State 8-2 on Friday evening in game one of a three-game SEC baseball series at Dudy Noble Field. Carolina is 30-7 and 13-3 in the SEC while the loss drops Mississippi State to 23-15 and 6-10 in league play. Continue reading
