• Powered lead MSU to a sweep of four games against SE Missouri and Michigan State in the BankFirst Baseball Challenge at Dudy Noble Field with a three-home run, 15-RBI weekend…Matched a career-high with a 6-RBI game and belted a walk-off three-run home run vs. SEMO in the opening game…Leads MSU with five game-winning RBI, including two walk-off home runs.
• Registered his second two-home run game of the season and set a career-high with a 7-RBI performance in State’s tournament finale against Michigan State…Climbed into the SEC lead in both home runs (7) and RBI (25).

Brian Fletcher Auburn Junior OF Fayetteville, Ga.
• Hit .636 with a 1.545 slugging percentage in the Auburn Classic – Collected three home runs, including a walk-off solo homer in the 10th to beat Boston College on Friday night … He now has 31 career home runs, which is ninth all-time for an Auburn career.
• Had 11 RBI during the weekend and now has 17 on the season in just six games – Has hit safely in all six games and has an 11-game hitting streak dating back to last season. Continue reading

Junior • OF • Murfreesboro, Tenn.
• Was nearly unstoppable in the batter’s box, hitting at a blistering .750 clip with nine hits in 12 at-bats to help Tennessee record its first season-opening series sweep since 2004…Reached safely in 12 of 16 plate appearances for a .750 on-base percentage.
• Had three hits in each game of UT’s sweep over the Musketeers…Tallied four doubles and five singles over the weekend…Posted a tremendous 1.083 slugging percentage with 13 total bases…Walked three times and did not strike out.

  • Went 8-for-16 (.500) with three doubles and six RBIS during the week to help Vols go 4-1…Hit .455 during the Vols series victory at No. 1 LSU; including three RBI and one home run…Scored six runs in five games.
  • Two-run home run on Sunday against LSU helped the Vols earn 9-4 victory and the series…Hit pinch hit home run against Belmont on Tuesday night; three-run shot was his second of the year…Finished week with a 1.063 slugging percentage and .529 on-base percentage …In the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, during streak 12-for-21 (.571) .

  • Gibbs was LSU’s leading hitter in its series victory over No. 1 Georgia in Athens, batting .444 (4-for-9) with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored … for the entire week, Gibbs hit .385 (5-for-13) with two homers, four RBI and four runs.
  • He also walked three times and was hit by a pitch, posting a .500 on-base percentage … Gibbs also threw out a Georgia base runner attempting a steal during the weekend series. Continue reading

    • Henry continued to be a key component in the Rebel offense and critical to the Rebels posting a second straight series win in SEC play as he reached base safely in every game this week from the lead-off position … Henry was 7-for-17 with a team-leading seven runs scored and a team-leading five RBI on he week … He was also 5-for-6 in steal attempts.     LSU right-hander Louis Coleman was named Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday by the league office.

    Coleman, a senior from Schlater, Miss., was brilliant on the mound last week, posting two victories over Kentucky to lead LSU to an SEC series victory. In two appearances vs. UK (one start), Coleman was 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in 9.2 innings, allowing just one run on five hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

  • Against California, went 9-12 (.750) with two runs, two doubles, five walks, a stolen base and seven RBI…Had a .824 on-base percentage against the Bears and .917 slugging percentage from the leadoff spot…Set career bests with four hits and five RBI in a game on Sunday. Continue reading
