Arizona set to hire Jay Johnson

JohnsonJayCollege Baseball Daily has learned that current Nevada head coach Jay Johnson will be named the new head coach at the University of Arizona replacing Andy Lopez who retired this week. Washington State names Marty Lees as Head Coach

MartyLees_thumb.jpgPULLMAN, Wash. – Marty Lees has been named the Washington State University Head Baseball Coach, Cougar Director of Athletics Bill Moos announced Wednesday.

Lees becomes the 15th head coach in program history after spending the last three seasons as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma State and the previous 11 at Oregon State. USC Trojan Pitcher Marc Huberman and two former Trojans facing Lawsuit

On May 9th 2014, College Baseball Daily reported that Southern California outfielder Vahn Bozoian was dismissed from the university for a student disciplinary issue after an unknown incident. Washington State announces Coaching Change

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University Director of Athletics Bill Moos announced Tuesday that baseball coach Donnie Marbut will not return to guide the Cougars next season.

Arizona head coach Andy Lopez Retires

AndyLopezArizona.jpgTUCSON, Ariz. – Andy Lopez, a 33-year coaching veteran and one of the winningest coaches in college baseball, has announced his retirement as head coach at The University of Arizona. Lopez, who guided the Wildcats to a pair of College World Series appearances and the 2012 national championship, spent the past 14 years at Arizona after previous coaching stints at Cal State Dominguez Hills, Pepperdine and Florida.

“For the past 14 years, I have been extremely honored to be a part of the Arizona baseball program,” Lopez said. “This is a special place with many special people, and I thank everyone at The University of Arizona for the opportunity to finish my career here.” Continue reading Arizona head coach Andy Lopez Retires

UCLA Baseball releases 2015 Schedule

The 2013 NCAA Champion UCLA Bruins baseball team announced their 56-game regular season schedule, which includes 10 conference and 13 non-conference opponents, today.

The Bruins will open the season with a non-conference three-game weekend series at home against the Hofstra Pride starting on Friday, February 13 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. UCLA will then spend the following weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C. for a three-game weekend series against the North Carolina Tar Heels starting on Friday, February 20.
